Still in Arvada.......

Sorry we have slacked on the blog...here is some of what Elder Gross has had to say over the past month.....Sounds like some typical missionary struggles...keep him in your prayers....

In early August.........." I am staying in Arvada for this transfer with Elder Arnott, which I am glad about. We have a few families and investigators that we are teaching right now....and I think they will progress pretty well. Everyone we are teaching is getting so close to be baptized, but they each have one personal little thing to overcome first.

I have been staying in shape here riding because there are a lot of hills. We are getting sister missionaries in our district...OH NO!!!!(haha) Sorry...it will be interesting, we have never had sister missionaries before in our district."

Later August......"Well the past few weeks have been kind of bad as far as investigators...they are not progressing as much now... we have gotten stood up, etc. But we are working hard and trying our best...No giving up!! Zone conference was awesome!!Our President set a goal at the beginning of last year to get 872 baptisms in 2009...So we have a lot of work to do to reach that goal"

Today's e-mail (9-7-09) " So this past week for has been pretty bad....I don't know what is going on in the area, but it is really slowing down. We are doing all we can too..GRRRRR! Oh well..it happens...I guess it wasn't that bad...we had fun and you know, I have to enjoy what I'm doing and work hard. People will come around...Saturday was definately a test of faith. I just wanted to quit. We walked around for 5 hours...tracting and visiting potentials. Not one person let us in...But we are still trying:)
